We’re gearing up for a change here at the Flyer. It’s a swip-swap as we like to call it. Swip one thing and swap it for another. Swip left, swap right. You know, a swip-swap?
You see, since we added the “Latest” view to the navigation above, we’ve noticed that a ton of people are entering the site directly on that page. In other words, they prefer seeing one column of posts instead of a few, categorically separated columns.
It’s not a surprise. After all, that’s how the majority of the world wide internets work already. Plus,we implemented that feature because we assumed we’d end up using it on the homepage one day. We just weren’t ready yet and didn’t know if everyone else was ready either.
The time has come to push that button. We’ve still got some kinks to iron out before it’s a go, but expect that sometime soon. And yes, we’ll keep the classic view around for anyone who still prefers the multi-column homepage.
We’ll just swip-swap it.
Tonight
There’s what looks to be a good show set at JR’s Lightbulb Club tonight. Seattle-based World History is in town as part of a gigantic U.S. tour with Fayetteville’s own Real Live Tigers. Think fun folky, great lyric-y, sort of Neutral Milk Hotel-y goodness. Also playing are Austin’s Literature and locals Potions. Hey Potions, you guys are busy this month. Nice job.
What else is happening tonight? Dancing at FIX, Wii bowling at Smoke & Barrel, karaoke and more live music. There’s a list below, yo.
