Last Night seeks public input on New Year’s Eve celebration

Organizers of the New Year’s Eve celebration “Last Night” are seeking a little input from the community.

The Creative Economy Action Group, a local non-profit organization that will host the “Last Night” New Year’s Eve Festival on the Fayetteville Square this year, is planning a public brainstorming meeting next week at the Fayetteville Public Library.

“We want to hear your vision for the perfect community New Year’s Eve party,” said event organizer Lauren Embree. “Last Night is focused on a wide audience, and we want to make sure everyone feels welcome and included.”

The organization in July announced plans to revitalize the New Year’s Eve celebration “First Night,” which was cancelled after 13 years in existence.

The brainstorming session is scheduled for 6 p.m. Tuesday, Aug. 9 in the Walker Room inside the Fayetteville Public Library. Anyone who’d like to provide input is welcome.
