Sounds like TCBY is headed to Fayetteville

A few suites are still vacant at the Garland Center on the UA campus in Fayetteville.

Fayetteville might be getting a TCBY location after all.

According to a Facebook wall post from the Fayetteville Chamber of Commerce, a TCBY is planned at the Garland Center on the University of Arkansas campus.

We’re still waiting on a few responses for confirmation, but the Chamber’s post indicates the new restaurant will be located “right next door to Belle Boutique.”

Until we know more, we’re just guessing, but the location would likely be run by Jared and Sarah Greer. (Update: Maybe not. A chamber official tells us the owner is Dave Bass.)

The Greers won a TCBY franchise in a nationwide contest last year, but instead of building in Fayetteville as originally planned, the location ended up in Rogers at Promenade Pointe Shopping Center.

“We hope to be successful with our first store in Rogers so that we may open other stores in NWA,” Greer said in October. “Fayetteville is obviously at the top of our list for store number 2. We live in Fayetteville and will probably live here forever.”

The Garland Center was the brief home of 3 Spoons Yogurt, just a couple of suites north of Belle Boutique. 3 Spoons opened in the fall of 2010, but is no longer in business at that location.

If TCBY does open in Fayetteville, it will join three other frozen yogurt shops already in business here in town including Pink Swirls, Cherry Berry and Orange Leaf.

Extras

Two things: 1) While taking a photo for this post, we saw that a Mertins Eye Care is opening soon at the Garland Center.

2) The Rogers TCBY is located next door to a new Five Guys. Rumor has it that Five Guys is currently scouting for a Fayetteville location.
