Art Amiss 14 Visuals set for Aug. 16 at Scarpino

Do you know what time it is? There are plenty of acceptable answers to that question, but for the purposes of this post, the one we’re looking for is “it’s time for another Art Amiss.”

The 14th installment of the semi-annual art extravaganza is scheduled for 7 p.m. Tuesday, Aug. 16 at Scarpino in Fayetteville.

For those who aren’t familiar, Art Amiss is a community-based, multimedia art collective dedicated to showcasing the talents of artists living and working in Arkansas.

The organization announced recently that it would split its shows into individual events focusing on music, visual art, literature, and fashion. Previously, all of the elements were combined in one giant event.

The upcoming show will focus on visual arts.

From the Facebook event:

We just wrapped up the Art Amiss 14 CD release party, we’re gearing up for Art Amiss 14 Fashion at the end of the month, and scheduling Art Amiss 14 Literature in September. This will be a chance to focus on the other visual works that make our events such an interesting break from your traditional gallery shows!

Admission is $5 and there will be a cash bar. Live music will be provided by Lee Young on sitar and Chris Cooper on dumbek.

All of the proceeds raised during the event will support Arkansas artists in the form of grants provided by Art Amiss and to help fund future events.
