Police: Remains found on E. Spring St. belong to Donald W. Wilson, 36 of Fayetteville | Press Release

Fayetteville Police Chief Greg Tabor today announced that a set of remains recently discovered on E. Spring Street have been identified as a local man who had been reported missing.

Donald W. Wilson, white-male, age 36, of Fayetteville, was reported missing to the Fayetteville Police Department on July 5, 2011.

On August 26, 2011 officers responded to a wooded area on E. Spring Street in Fayetteville, where a set of remains had been discovered. The remains have been positively identified through fingerprints by the medical examiner’s office as those of Donald W. Wilson.

The initial autopsy results indicated asphyxiation by strangulation. There was nothing at the scene or in the initial autopsy results that indicated foul play.
