Police searching for three people after reported attack near Dickson Street

Fayetteville police are seeking help from the public in an investigation to find three people who reportedly threw another man from a 16-foot tall retaining wall near Dickson Street last week.

Officers responded to a call at the Walton Arts Center loading dock for a battery report at 2:17 a.m. Sunday, Sept. 4.

Sgt. Craig Stout said the man told officers he was confronted by three individuals near the intersection of Dickson Street and West Avenue. Fearing for his safety, the man said he ran to the east side of the Walton Arts Center, but stopped when he reached a metal fence and a retaining wall.

The man told police he was then assaulted and that one of the suspects picked him up and threw him off the retaining wall.

Security video released to local TV stations (KNWA, KFSM) shows the victim land near the loading dock of the arts center with an obviously broken leg.

The victim was transported to Washington Regional Medical Center by Central Emergency Medical Service.

Anyone with information about this incident is encouraged to call the Fayetteville Police Department at 479-587-3555.

Update: A story in Saturday morning’s Northwest Arkansas Times, identifies the victim as Delane Gunelic, 25, of Fayetteville.
