Cool things are continuing to happen around the square in Fayetteville.

The latest of those things happened this morning (Sept. 20), with the opening of a brand new boutique called Stitch Vintage & Handmade.

The new store is located in the space formerly home to Cromwell Architects, and is owned by Kaitlyn Lee, a recent University of Arkansas graduate with an eye for vintage, and a talent for making her own hair accessories.

“I started with an Etsy shop making and selling handmade things,” Lee said, “Also, I’ve always been really interested in vintage clothing. The store is just a combination of those two interests.”

Lee will carry her own handmade items and vintage finds, and will also offer other handmade treasures created by others on consignment.

Lee said she chose the location near the square because of the other retail shops in the vicinity.

“Originally, I was looking at a spot on Dickson Street, but I felt like the activity on the square is more along the lines of what I was looking for,” she said. “With the Farmers’ Market and First Thursday, it’s a neat environment to be around and it seems like the center of everything local right now.”

Stich Vintage & Handmade is located at 100 W. Center, Suite 5 (though it’s technically accessed from Block Avenue), and is open from 10 a.m. until 6 p.m. Tuesday through Saturday.
