Despite what your father may have told you, there is no scientific evidence to support the claims that Scotch puts hair on your chest.

It is pretty tasty, however, and if you’re interested in trying some of the good stuff, there’s a Scotch tasting coming to the Walton Arts Center Nov. 3.

The event, hosted by “master of whisky” Robert Sickler, will feature some of the finest single malt and blended Scotches in the world as part of the WAC’s 12th annual Art of Wine Festival.

Sickler views whisky as the ‘wine of the spirits world’, and takes great pride in converting new whisky enthusiasts ‘one dram at a time.’ During the tasting, he will discuss the origins of Scotch whisky, the distillation process and the distinct qualities that make each Scotch whisky unique.

Scotch whiskies featured during the event include:

  • Cardhu 12 year- Speyside
  • The Singleton 12 year – Speyside
  • Oban 14 year – West Coast Highlands
  • Lagavulin 16 year – Islay
  • Johnnie Walker Green Label
  • Johnnie Walker Gold Label
  • Buchanan’s 18 year

Tickets are $75, and are on sale now at waltonartscenter.org.
