Mayor Lioneld Jordan will lead another Trail Tour for kids on Saturday, Oct. 22, and this one ends in a puppet party.
The event begins at 9 a.m. at Nadine Baum Studio, 505 West Spring Street. From there, the tour will follow the Frisco Trail north to Wilson Park, where the it will arrive in time for Puppets in the Park.
The Mayor’s Trail Tour is part of the national Let’s Move program to combat childhood obesity. Participants will be eligible to enter a drawing for prizes from participating businesses.
Puppets in the Park is a day long festival that includes workshops on puppet making, jugglers, a giant puppet pageant and more. It is the brainchild of local puppeteer Jo Ann Kaminsky who will be joined this year by Eureka Springs Puppeteer George Meyer. The event will last until around 6:30 p.m.
An art walk produced by the Northwest Arkansas Artists Association is also scheduled Saturday at Wilson Park.
