Artists work to carve jack-o’-lanterns during the Farmers’ Market Fall Harvest and Heritage Festival 2010.

The Fayetteville Farmers’ Market will host the annual Fall Harvest and Heritage Festival the weekend of Oct. 29-30 at the weekly markets on the Fayetteville square Saturday, and on Sunday at the Botanical Garden of the Ozarks.

Organizers will host a Halloween costume contest on the square on Saturday, Oct. 29 at 11 a.m. Farmers’ Market gift certificates will be awarded for best adult and best child costume. Area artists will also be carving jack-o-lanterns on site, and vendors will be “displaying their personal heritage.”

On Sunday, Oct. 30, the jack-o-lanterns will be given away at the market at Botanical Garden of the Ozarks. Vendors will also be handing out treats to attendees.

The Saturday farmers’ market will take place from 7 a.m. to 2 p.m. on the Fayetteville square, and the Sunday market is held from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Botanical Garden on the Ozarks.
