Local videographer documents Halloween fun on Dickson Street

If you were in costume on Dickson Street last Saturday night (Oct. 29), there’s a good chance you’re one of nearly 300 stars in a new video that’s making its way around the local web.

Van Buren photographer/videographer Mark Mondier said his latest video project was just a spur-of-the-moment idea, but as of Monday, it had clocked in at over 1,000 views on video sharing site Vimeo.

“A friend of mine informed me there would be plenty of costumes out on Dickson Street that night,” said Mondier, “so I figured I might as well capture it.”

Mondier said he knew a few of the people in the video, but there’s a good majority of folks who probably didn’t even know he was filming.

“I want everyone to get a chance to see themselves,” he said. Plus, he added, “I just figured it would be a good video to showcase how vibrant and creative our area can be.”

See Mondier’s 8-minute HD video (shot with a Canon 7D) below or view it on Vimeo.
