Veterans Day Parade set for Nov. 11, 2011 in downtown Fayetteville | Press Release

Submitted by Scott Tankersley

The Northwest Arkansas Veterans Day Association is announcing the 2011 Veterans Day Parade. The Parade will take place on Nov. 11, 2011 through the Fayetteville Downtown Square commencing at 4:30 p.m. with events on the square starting at 2:30 p.m.

We have heard from a number of parents that they want their children to experience what used to be an “American Tradition,” where veterans from many past and present wars pass down the avenue with bands playing, color guards showcasing our national and service flags, horses trotting and residents applauding.

This year we are excited about bringing another great event to NWA, but we need everyone’s help. Today, we place a call for assistance to fill the square with music and regalia, surrounded by the beautiful red, white, and blue banners representing the coveted freedom and liberty we all take for granted,.

If anyone would like to participate in the parade, we would also like to hear from you. And finally, we need to make sure we turn out in great numbers to say thank you to so many who have sacrificed so much, in such unselfish ways.
