Arkansas moves up to No. 6 in BCS standings


 

The Arkansas football team moved up two spots to No. 6. in the BCS standings released on Sunday night, matching their highest position in school history.

The Hogs moved passed previously-unbeaten Boise State and Stanford after both teams lost on Saturday. Meanwhile, Arkansas won their sixth straight game, downing the Tennessee Volunteers 49-7 at Razorback Stadium.

The Hogs have been ranked in the BCS standings for a school-record seven consecutive weeks dating back to last season. The only other time the Hogs have been ranked as high as No. 6 in the BCS was in week six of 2006.

Arkansas was also ranked No. 6 in both the USA Today Coaches Poll and the Associated Press Top 25 poll released on Sunday.

Next up, the Hogs take on Mississippi State at War Memorial Stadium in Little Rock on Saturday, Nov. 19. Kickoff is set for 2:30 p.m. The game will be televised on CBS.
