Don’t eat any turkey sandwiches this weekend.

Well, you can if you want, but you shouldn’t because about a week from now, you’re gonna be really sick of turkey (Thursday is Thanksgiving, weirdo).

Instead, I’d eat a taco, a salad, or a falafel pocket or something if you get hungry over the next couple days. Just a thought.

Friday

It’s funk night at George’s Majestic Lounge. 1oz Jig is playing two sets (a happy hour set and a late night set), and funky New Orleans bass player George Porter Jr. is playing happy hour.

You could see some theatre, if you want. Local kids company Arts Live Theatre will be performing Disney’s Cinderella at UA Global Campus. Also, University Theatre is doing The Adding Machine in the Fine Arts building on campus.

Broadway-musical wise, Rock of Ages is at Walton Arts Center for a few more days.

Guta is at Smoke & Barrel, and Bentonville metal band 90lb. Wrench is at Rogue.

Saturday

BRONCHO

The last Saturday Farmers’ Market on the Fayetteville square of the season is happening this week. It is a holiday market, which means market vendors will have tons of handcrafted, jams, honey, baked goods, meats, seasonal produce, decorations, cards, and Christmas vegetables.

The Razorback football game is at 2:30 p.m. in Little Rock. The Hogs are taking on the stupid Bulldogs of Mississippi State. The game will be televised n CBS.

Lights of the Ozarks officially kicks off with a lighting ceremony on the square and parade beginning at 6 p.m. There will be floats, hot chocolate vendors, and a man wearing a Santa Claus outfit. Don’t forget to walk down Block Avenue and check out their personalized Christmas trees while you’re down there.

Did you catch the interview Roger Barrett did with former Unwed Sailor frontman Jonathan Ford’s new band,BRONCHO? If not, you should, and maybe you should check them out at JR’s Lightbulb Club with The Holy Shakes and Egyptr on Saturday.

There’s also a big show at Smoke & Barrel Tavern Saturday with masked psycho-surf rockers Daikaiju, and radical local band Voyageurs. This show is cancelled. Instead, it’s a free show with DJ Shortfuze.

Another local band, Chasing Pictures is celebrating the release of a new EP at George’s Majestic Lounge. Day After Mourning and Very Special Guests are also performing, and the show is totally sold out.

Sunday

On Sunday, famous Arkansas nature photographer Tim Ernst will speak, show off his photos, and sign books at 2 p.m. inside the Fayetteville Public Library.

UARK Bowl has a comedy show with Los Angeles comic Rory Scovel and local newcomer Ray Porter. Rory was on Conan not too long ago.
