Movin’ on up: Hogs No. 3 in latest BCS rankings

It was a wild weekend of upsets in the college football world, and as a result, the Arkansas Razorbacks moved up three positions to No. 3 in the latest BCS rankings.

Arkansas was ranked No. 6 coming in to the week, but losses by No. 5 Oklahoma, No. 4 Oregon, and No. 2 Oklahoma State, combined with the Hogs win over Mississippi State on Saturday, propelled the Hogs into the top three teams in the country.

The No. 3 BCS ranking is the highest in the history of the program. The Hogs’ current streak of eight consecutive weeks in the BCS standings (dating back to last season) is also a school record.

Arkansas was also No. 3 in both the USA Today Coaches’ Poll, and the Associated Press Top 25 Poll released on Sunday.

The Razorbacks are behind fellow SEC-West members, Alabama (No. 2) and LSU (No. 1), setting up an all-SEC-West BCS top three for the first time ever.

Arkansas will get a shot to knock off LSU on Friday, Nov. 25 when they take on the Tigers in Baton Rouge. Kickoff is set for 1:30 p.m. The game will be televised by CBS.
