The center turn lane on Crossover Road (Arkansas 265) will be closed from Old Wire Road to Birdie Drive for about 8 months starting Tuesday, Dec. 27.

The closure is necessary to allow for the installation of two concrete drainage structures in the area, said state officials said in a news release.

The highway department is sharing in the cost of the road work which is part of a 2.2-mile widening project on Crossover Road from Mission Boulevard to Joyce Boulevard.

The three-lane section of road from Mission Boulevard to Township Street will become a four-lane road with a center turning lane. The stretch from Township Street to Joyce Boulevard will include four lanes with a raised center median.

According to the release, the Arkansas State Highway Commission awarded a contract to Nabholz Construction of Rogers for the $12.6 million project.
