The Fayetteville Public Library will host a discussion on the music of Mexican-American percussionist Poncho Sanchez at 2 p.m. on Jan. 8 inside the library’s Walker Community Room.

Sanchez, who will perform at the Walton Arts Center on Jan. 20, recently released his 25th recording, Chano y Dizzy, a tribute to the legacy of jazz greats Chano Pozo and Dizzy Gillespie.

His WAC performance is part of the art center’s 10×10 Arts Series, which features dance, theater, classical music and jazz performances for as little as $10 per ticket.

Ozarks at Large producer Kyle Kellams will lead the discussion at the library, along with local musician and Calle Soul percussionist Fernancdo Valencia.

The discussion is free to attend, and open to the public.
