Washington County officials encourage online property assessment

A post on the Washington County website this week reminds residents to assess their personal property and encourages the use of an online form to save some time.

County residents must assess their personal property items like vehicles, ATVs, trailers and boats each year between Jan. 1 and May 31 to avoid a 10 percent tax penalty.

Online assessment is available to anyone who assessed in Washington County last year. First-time assessments, business assessments, changes to contact information, or additions to an assessment still require a trip to one of three county offices.

To assess online, visit washcoonline.com and be prepared to provide your last name, ZIP code and mailing address number.

Phone assessments are also available by calling 479-444-1520.
