Razorback football team to be honored at Arkansas-Michigan basketball game Saturday

After compiling an 11-2 record, winning the Cotton Bowl, and finishing in the Top 5 in both the Associated Press Poll and the USA Today Coaches Poll, the 2011 Razorback football team are deserving of a little extra recognition.

They’ll get it this weekend, when head coach Bobby Petrino is handed the 2012 Field Scovell Cotton Bowl trophy at halftime during the men’s basketball game against No. 20 Michigan. Tip off is set for 1 p.m. at Bud Walton Arena in Fayetteville.

Quarterback Tyler Wilson will be recognized for earning the J. Curtis Sanford Offensive MVP Trophy, and defensive end Jake Bequette will be presented with the Felix McKnight Defensive MVP Trophy.

Also expected to be in attendance at Saturday’s game are about 20 high-profile football recruits including Dorial Green-Beckham, a 6-foot-6 wide receiver from Springfield, Mo. who is considered by many recruiting services to be the highest rated recruit in the country.
