Fayetteville Public Access Television resumes online broadcast

After a brief break, Fayetteville Public Access Television is again streaming live on the web.

The broadcast can be accessed by visiting faypublic.tv and clicking the “watch” link at the top of the site. A direct link is also available at livestre.am/1bi9L.

Television center manager Fritz Gisler said Monday the live online broadcast was stopped several months ago after grant funding for the service ended.

Gisler said by repurposing some city equipment, the center was able to use a free service called Livestream, and resume the broadcast at no additional cost to the city.

Besides online streaming, public access television is available for Cox Communications customers on channel 218, and for AT&T U-Verse customers on channel 99.

Your Media – the operating name for Community Access Television, Inc. – is a nonprofit organization which has been the service provider for public access television in Fayetteville since its founding in 1992.

Aside from public access television, the City of Fayetteville also provides recordings and live-streams of various city meetings through the Fayetteville Government Channel (Cox ch. 216, U-Verse ch.99).
