Traffic waits at the intersection of Razorback Road and Maple Street last week in Fayetteville. The stretch between Maple and Cleveland Streets will soon have a sidewalk on the east side of the road.

Sidewalk construction is set to begin this week on the east side of Razorback Road from Cleveland to Maple Streets near Razorback Stadium. The northbound lane will be closed until about 3:30 p.m. each weekday. Work is expected to continue through March 31.

Rudy Moore, Jr. yesterday announced he would be a candidate for re-election as Fayetteville District Judge. The nonpartisan election for judicial office is set for May 22.

We can’t guarantee that Cake is coming back to town for another show at the Arkansas Music Pavilion on April 19, but we wouldn’t place any bets against it. The band lists Fayetteville, as a stop on their upcoming tour. We’re expecting confirmation sometime today.

Million Dollar Quartet, the national tour of the Broadway musical hits Walton Arts Center today and on stage as “the King” is 20-year-old Harrison, Ark. native Cody Slaughter.

The full lineup for the Fayetteville Roots Festival will be announced at a party on March 18 at Greenhouse Grille.

Fat Tuesday begins at around 7 p.m. at Sideways on Dickson Street. The Crowning of the Royalty of the Demented Krewe of Dickson will be held around 8 p.m. The Krewe will then parade with the Billy Zydeco Band through sponsoring clubs on Dickson Street.

Also tonight, Walton Arts Center begins an eight-show run of Million Dollar Quartet, George’s hosts Dead Man Flats and Dumptruck Butterlips, and The Lightbulb Club has a Mardi Gras party with DJ Clunk.
