Traffic was shut down for a few hours on Sycamore Street near the intersection of College Avenue while crews worked to stop a gas leak Tuesday.

Construction crews recently broke ground on a planned 2,600-square-foot, two-story expansion project at Dickson Street Liquor.

The Walton Arts Center’s expansion plans became a little more clear yesterday, after the results of an almost year-long study were presented to the board of directors at a meeting inside Nadine Baum Studios.

The City Council voted Tuesday night to designate a portion of Joyce Boulevard from College Avenue to Crossover Road as “Honorary Jack Luper Boulevard” in honor of a city employee who died in a construction zone accident on that stretch of road.
