With Spring just around the corner, Fayetteville police today announced the department will soon have an increased presence on the city’s trail system.

Officers will patrol the trails on foot, on bicycles, on ATVs and on motorcycles, Chief Greg Tabor said in a news release.

While motorized vehicles are generally prohibited on the trail system, city code allows emergency vehicle use on the trails. The use of the ATVs and motorcycles, Tabor said, will also allow officers to patrol areas of the trail system that are unreachable by vehicle.

As always, citizens are encouraged to report any suspicious activity on the trail.
