Mountain Crepes

Two Fayetteville Fire Department trucks formed a bridge over Razorback Road Thursday morning for the FHS boys basketball team bus to drive under on its way to Hot Springs. The Bulldog take on Little Rock Hall for the title Friday night.

The Pyramid Hefeweizen aroma is a little like Juicy Fruit gum with a hint of grassiness, according to J.T. Wampler in this week’s installment of “It’s All About the Beer”.

A brand new crepe trailer is set to open on Dickson Street on Monday, March 12. It’s called Mountain Crepes.

The 1 Oz. Jig

There’s a funk festival happening at George’s Majestic Lounge. It’s called the Fayetteville Funk Festival, and Groovement, The Revivalist, Cadillac Jackson, 1 Oz. Jig will be keeping Fayetteville Funky from happy hour until closing time.

Hot Springs music festival the Valley of the Vapors is hosting a preview show at Smoke & Barrel Tavern, with Holy Shakes (Hot Springs), Fauxnz (Fayetteville) and Matt Demon (Fort Smith).

Louisville, Ky. electro-pop band The Pass is at JR’s Lightbulb Club Friday night, with locals Trasspassers and Wooden Toys (Conway).

Local alt-hip-hop band Revolution Butterfly is at Billy’s Grill, and Calle Soul is at UARK Bowl.

The OneUps

There’s stand up comedy at UARK Bowl Saturday night with Fools on Parade. Comics Ray Porter, Sam Letchworth, Richard “The Genius” Brenton II, and host Troy Gittings will be telling the jokes.

If you like nerd core / video game music, Smoke & Barrel Tavern is the place for you on Saturday. The OneUps and Mega Ran are playing.

JR’s Lightbulb Club has Woodsman (they have two drummers), and radical local band, Swimming.

Finger-picking virtuoso Richard Smith will be at GoodFolk with Aaron Till Saturday night, and Speakeasy is at George’s.

El Ten Eleven

Last we heard, there are still tickets available to the 10 p.m. Carlos Mencia performance at UARK Bowl. Mencia will also perform at 7:30 p.m., but that show is already sold out.

Remember when we told you guys that El Ten Eleven was coming to JR’s Lightbulb Club on their way to SXSW? Well, that’s happening on Sunday night.

Also, Fayetteville ex-pats turned Nashvillians Heypenny are at Smoke & Barrel Tavern Sunday night. They’re rad live, if you’ve never seen ’em.
