Proposed parking deck locations

Speak up! City officials have scheduled two public input sessions on April 4 regarding the location of an upcoming downtown parking deck in Fayetteville.

If anyone in Fayetteville is deserving of a high five right now, it’s the organizers of NWA Fashion Week. Event founders Jade Terminella and Danielle Vaughan announced on Monday that over $33,000 was raised for local non-profits through ticket sales this year.

In softball news, the Razorbacks released their 2013 SEC schedule on Thursday. The Hogs will play 24 regular season conference games including series’ against SEC newcomers Missouri and Texas A&M.

Friday events, March 23

North Mississippi Allstars

North Mississipi Allstars will be back in town for a show at George’s Majestic Lounge Friday night, with all three original members. Locals Red Ambition and RJ Mischo will kick off the night for happy hour.

There’s a dance party at Fix with Beat Bachs, Baby Armie, and Nicholas Scott.

The weather should be near perfect for music in the backyard at Kingfish, and Bent Grass Green is set to perform Friday night.

Saturday events, March 24

Blues In The Natural State

The Blues are taking over the city on Saturday night. Ozark Blues Society is hosting the 10th annual Blues in the Natural State festival at multiple venues around town.

It all starts at Kingfish at 3 p.m. with Kyle Lee, Steve Jones, Kathy Cole & Buddy Shute. Also at 3 p.m., Isayah Warford kicks off the festivities at Smoke & Barrel Tavern, followed by Earnest Guitar Roy.

At George’s Majestic Lounge beginning at 6 p.m., David Kimbrough, Mississippi Fever, Chris Cameron, Lucious Spiller, Oreo Blue, and Earl & Them are all set to perform.

There’s also a show at Legacy Blues late night with Ocie Fisher and the Heartstrings. More info about the festival is available at ozarkbluessociety.org.

In non-blues news (well, mostly), Ginsu Wives, Perpetual Werewolf, and Teenagers are at Smoke & Barrel Tavern beginning at around 9:30-10-ish p.m.

There’s another cash mob event scheduled for The Hardware Store on Township Drive from 1:30-4 p.m. Saturday. Here is more information about it.
