Canceled: Jesco White, May 18 at George’s Majestic Lounge

Update 5/7/12: George’s officials have announced that this show is canceled, “Due to circumstances beyond our control.” All tickets purchased online will be refunded automatically.

If you’ve never seen Dancing Outlaw, Dancing Outlaw II: Jesco Goes To Hollywood, or The Wild and Wonderful Whites of West Virginia, it’s going to be really hard to convey to you the full awesomeness that is Jesco White.

In just over a month, however, you could find out for yourself, when Jesco arrives for a show at George’s Majestic Lounge on May 18.

Jesco has been a cult figure in America since the documentary film Dancing Outlaw captured the eccentric mountain man from West Virginia in 1991.

In addition to appearing in three documentary films, White is well known for his “mountain dancing” ability, which we suspect he’ll be demonstrating at George’s next month.

Outside of that, we have no idea what to expect at a live Jesco White performance. Something tells us, however, that we don’t want to miss it.

Tickets are $15 at George’s, and you can also purchase them at their ticketing site for $18.39 (includes fees).
