What’s better than relaxing on a blanket spread over the cool grass on a warm summer night, and enjoying a frosty beverage in a plastic cup while listing to some free music in a picturesque park?

If you said, “nothing,” “I can’t think of anything,” or “that sounds great,” you’ll be happy to know that the Fayetteville Parks & Recreation Department’s annual Gulley Park Summer Concert Series is about to begin.

This lineup includes six shows beginning with a May 31 performance by Classical Edge Theatre Company, followed by San Diego folk/pop band The Smart Brothers.

The rest of the season includes performances by local Latin/Funk/Soul band LaFuSo, Atlanta pop/rocker Tim Brantley, local party band Joe Giles & The Homewreckers, Austin poppy-folk outfit Matt the Electrician, and local Americana duo Chase Missy.

With the exception of the May 31 kick-off event which starts at 5:30 p.m., all of the music begin at 7 p.m. As always, they’re all free to attend and open to the public.

Don’t forget a lawn chair or blanket. Free music!
