Walton Arts Center officials have released a few more details about the upcoming Taste of Country music festival, set for Friday, Aug. 17 at the Arkansas Music Pavilion.

Until now, all we knew was the date and the headlining act which is country superstar Miranda Lambert, a two-time Academy of Country Music and Country Music Association Female Vocalist of the Year.

Three more names were released Tuesday morning with the possibility of at least a few more to come. According to the announcement, the Pistol Annies and Randy Houser will play the inaugural, one-day event. Plus, local country singer Amanda Cramer is set to open the AMP stage.

Pistol Annies are a country music supergroup of sorts, composed of Miranda Lambert, Angaleena Presley and Ashley Monroe. The trio, formed in 2011 by Lambert, released its first album, Hell on Heels, debuted at No. 1 on Billboard’s Country Album Chart, selling over 44,000 albums in the first week.

We’re told to expect multiple stages and that the festival will likely extend outside the normal boundaries of the AMP and into the Washington County Fairgrounds.

Gates will open at 5 p.m. and music will begin at 6 p.m.

Tickets, which are $47 for all seats, and go on sale at 9 a.m. this Friday, June 15 and can be purchased by calling the Walton Arts Center box office at 443-5600 or through amptickets.com

We’ll have more when it comes.
