Eco Modern Flats, a LEED Platinum-certified apartment complex at 130 S. Hill Ave., won the commercial property award.

The east Fayetteville home of Cindi and Don Cope, located at 2769 E. Weston Place off Crossover Road, won in the residential category.

In an effort to recognize the best examples of sustainable landscapes, the board judged nominees on design and aesthetics, preservation of natural environment, environmental best management practices and attraction to wildlife.

Both winners received a recognition sign to be displayed on their property.
