Pets of the week: Mia and Plato

Mia

Photos: Todd Gill, Flyer staff

Meet Mia, a 4-year-old black and brown Tabby kitty who would love to find a new home. Her owners were unable to keep her at their house, but they visit her each day at the Fayetteville Animal Shelter. As much as her former owners love her, we know they would be so happy to hear that Mia had found a loving place to stay. She is super sweet and we had a hard time moving on to the dog kennel after spending a few minutes with her this morning.

Plato

Plato is a 2-year-old Blue Heeler/Shepherd mix who has been at the shelter for quite a while. He knows his way around the place well, but his time is certainly limited. He’s very friendly and energetic, and is completely potty-trained. Plato was trotting around all over the yard saying hello to each and every dog along the way. As a result, we couldn’t quite get a sharp photo of him, but that’s a good testament to how happy and healthy he is. He’s feature in the most recent Animals That Need Homes video at the 5:15 mark.

If you are interested in meeting either of this week’s featured pets or any of the other wonderful animals at the Fayetteville Animal Shelter, call 444-3456 or stop by the shelter during adoption hours at 1640 S. Armstrong Avenue.
