Keep Fayetteville Beautiful seeks entries for logo contest

Keep America Beautiful and Keep Arkansas Beautiful logos

Organizers of a new litter prevention group called Keep Fayetteville Beautiful are asking for the community’s help in establishing a local brand.

The group is in the process of becoming a certified nonprofit organization, and will be affiliated with Keep Arkansas Beautiful and Keep America Beautiful. One of the initial affiliate requirements is creating a logo, and organizers said they thought a design contest was the best way to get started.

The group will award $100 gift cards to winners of a design contest in three categories: kindergarten through sixth grade; seventh through 12th grade; and an open division.

Keep America Beautiful focuses on three key issues: litter prevention; waste reduction and recycling; and community greening and beautification. The guiding principles of the organization are individual responsibility, education, partnerships, and volunteer action. The Keep Fayetteville Beautiful mission statement is: Helping create pride and responsibility in our community environments. Entrants are encouraged to incorporate any and all of these ideas into their logo design.

Submissions must be transferable to T-shirts, brochures, posters and other promotional materials. Designs must have no more than three colors. Children who receive significant help from a parent are asked to submit designs in the open division.

Designs must be submitted in JPEG or PDF format by 5 p.m. Wednesday, July 25 in one of the following ways:
Email: Send digital files to [email protected].
Mail: Mail hard copies to KFB Logo Contest, Fayetteville Parks, 113 W. Mountain St., Fayetteville, AR, 72701.
In person: Drop off at the Parks and Recreation office, 1455 S. Happy Hollow Road.

Winners will be announced on July 30 on the city’s website at www.accessfayetteville.org
