Arkansas Razorback Fan Day set for Saturday, Aug. 18

Arkansas officially kicks off the 2012 football season on Sept. 1 against Jacksonville State, but Hogs fans jonesing for a football fix will get a bit of relief on Saturday, Aug. 18.

That’s the date of this year’s annual Razorback Fan Day.

The 2012 Hog football team will be signing autographs from noon until 2 p.m. inside Bud Walton Arena. Later on, the team will host a Red-White scrimmage at Razorback stadium at 7 p.m.

The scrimmage is free to the public, and gates to the stadium will open at 6 p.m. General admission seating for the scrimmage is available in the lower seating bowl the stadium.

The UA will use the event to test a new digital ticketing system set to be implemented during football games this year. Season ticket holders are encouraged to bring the special event ticket provided in their season ticket booklet. Fans without season tickets may print a free ticket that available at arkansasrazorbacks.com beginning Aug. 13.

Also, the new high-definition LED video board will be unveiled at the scrimmage.

Parking for the event is on a first-come, first-served basis in lots surrounding the stadium.
