UPDATED: Police searching for suspect after woman shot on Wedington Drive

Update: KFSM reports that the victim, Jessica Stewart, died Monday morning at Washington Regional Medical Center.

Fayetteville police are searching for a man suspected of shooting a woman on Wedington Drive on Sunday.

According to a news release, officers responded to 2228 W. Wedington Dr. at approximately 8:52 a.m. Sunday after a reported shooting. Upon arrival, police found Jessica Stewart, 39, laying in the front yard of the residence with a gunshot wound to her head. She was transported to Washington Regional Medical where she was listed in critical condition Sunday night.

Police named Eric Thomas Frankenhauser, 40, as a suspect in the shooting.

According to police, Frankenhauser could be driving a white, four-door, 2005 Hyundai Elantra with Arkansas license plate 153RRA. Police say he is considered armed and dangerous.

An arrest warrant was issued for Frankenhauser for Attempted Capital Murder and Battery 1st Degree.
