Symphony of Northwest Arkansas (SoNA) this week announced auditions for SoNA Singers, an ensemble led by choral conductor Terry Hicks.
The group will perform choral works, both a cappella and with orchestral accompaniment. It will also serve as the anchor of the larger SoNA Chorale, which will perform Verdi’s Requiem with the symphony, conducted by SoNA Music Director Paul Haas.
The complete concerts repertoire will be announced in the first rehearsal.
Auditions will be held at 9 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 8 in the Bentonville High School choral room, and at 5 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 18 at the SoNA office, 217 E. Dickson St. in Fayetteville.

Rehearsals will be held weekly from 2:30 to 4:30 p.m. on Sundays, beginning Oct. 14, 2012.

– One solo piece of music from standard vocal repertoire, either a cappella or an accompanist is provided
– Pitch memory exercises
– Scales (major and minor)
