SOLD OUT: 2012 Banff Mountain Film Festival returns to Fayetteville Friday

If you like mountain movies, the film festival for you is happening in Fayetteville this weekend.

The mobile version of the Banff Mountain Film Festival kicks off at 6:30 p.m. Friday, Sept. 14 in the UA Global Campus just off the downtown square.

The festival is an international film competition featuring movies on mountain subjects. That means climbing, mountain expeditions, remote cultures, and other mountain-related stuff. It began in 1976 and is held annually in Banff, Alberta, Canada.

The touring version set to stop in Fayetteville Friday night features the best films submitted to the festival. Films include All.I.Can, On the Trail of Ghengis Khan: The Last Frontier, Towers of the Ennedi, C.A.R.C.A., Chasing Water, Blue Obsession, and Reel Rock: Origins.

Tickets are available at the event website for $14. The event is now sold out.
