Ozark Electric Cooperative, Carroll Electric Cooperative, NWA Federal Credit Union, UARK Credit Union, and Ozark Natural Foods will participate in a community forum about cooperatives, and living in a cooperative community on Saturday, Sept. 15 from 10 a.m. until noon at the Fayetteville Public Library.

Representatives from the local cooperatives will participate in a panel discussion and question and answer session about the cooperative business model, what it is, why it works, and how it could be expanded locally.

This forum is being held in honor of International Year of the Cooperative, which was declared by the United Nations for the 2012 year.

The event is free to attend, and will be catered with light refreshments and drinks from Ozark Natural Foods’ Deli.
