Award-winning director Kevin McKinney will be in Fayetteville for a screening of his 2012 film, Corporate FM this weekend.

The film will be screened at the OMNI Center for Peace, Justice & Ecology at 6:30 p.m. on Sunday, Sept. 23, and McKinney will conduct a question and answer session immediately following the movie.

The documentary explores the consolidation trend currently facing the radio industry, and the effects corporate take-overs of radio stations around the country have had on communities.

A local group called Community Radio – Community Voice lead by local resident Joe Newman helped to bring McKinney to Fayetteville, and the group will also give a brief presentation on their desire to bring a community-based, low power FM radio station to Fayetteville before the film screening.

The event is free to attend, but donations are encouraged to help cover costs associated with the film screening.
