Arkansas quarterback Tyler Wilson has been cleared to play against Rutgers, Coach John L. Smith said on Thursday.

Wilson, who suffered a concussion in the Sept. 8 matchup against Louisiana-Monroe, did not play in last week’s 52-0 home loss to Alabama.

“Tyler has been cleared to go,” said Smith. “So that’s very exciting. We’re thankful that he is. I know our football team is excited about that, as are we as coaches, and I know the fans will be excited as well. The players are fired up about having him out there and bringing that energy and being that vocal person that we need.”

Smith also talked briefly about preparing for Rutgers.

“Now we just need to go to the field and execute,” he said. “Everybody does their jobs and just plays hard. Our mindset is positive, they’ve been practicing hard, and we know we need a win.”

Kickoff for Saturday’s game is set for 6 p.m. at Razorback Stadium in Fayetteville. The game will be broadcast on ESPNU.
