FHS to hold 15th Annual Homeless Vigil on Nov. 29

FHS Student Council members accept a $10,000 check to the 2010 Homeless Vigil efforts from an anonymous donor through the Fayetteville Area Community Foundation.

The Fayetteville High School Student Council will hold the 15th Annual Homeless Vigil on Thursday, Nov. 29 on the front lawn of the school, located at 1001 W. Stone Street.

Students will spend the night in makeshift shelters to raise money and awareness for the Families in Transition program, which helps less fortunate students and their families in the Fayetteville Public Schools system.

The vigil will begin at 5 p.m. and will continue through Friday.

Residents are encouraged to stop by and leave a monetary donation or contribute non-perishable food items at the vigil site on Thursday and Friday.
