Bear Grylls reality show hosts auditions in Fayetteville Dec. 15

If you’ve ever found yourself watching the Bear Grylls show “Man vs. Wild,” and thought to yourself, “Pssht. I could do that,” here’s your chance to prove it.

Grylls’ new reality series, set to air on NBC this summer, will hold an open casting call in Fayetteville from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Saturday, Dec. 15 at Fayetteville Athletic Club.

The new show, operating under working titles “Get Out Alive” and “Bear Grylls Adventure,” is similar to “Man vs. Wild,” but features teams of two people who will be dropped in a remote wilderness location to compete against each other in tests of leadership, determination, teamwork and survival.

The show is seeking “confident and competitive duos” in the form of married couples, siblings, best friends, dating couples, etc. Both team members must be present at the open casting call, but there’s also an online application.

According to the casting website, applicants must be legal U.S. residents 21 years of age or older by Feb. 1, and must have a valid U.S. passport if selected for the show.
