With three new City Council members set to be sworn in next month, Fayetteville Mayor Lioneld Jordan has his recommendations ready for new appointees to the various council committees.

Comedian, writer, and actor Ralphie May is set to kick off the Winter 2013 Stand-up Comedy Season at the UARK Bowl on Jan. 17.

The band that Wall Street Journal called the “quintessential New Orleans Jazz Band” is coming to Fayetteville this week, and ccclaimed songwriters and longtime friends Mary Chapin Carpenter and Shawn Colvin will be here this spring.
