A band that’s been on just about everyone’s Best of 2012 list is coming to Fayetteville next month.

Little Rock-based metal band Pallbearer is set to perform at the Lightbulb Club on Friday, Jan. 11 with locals, Fauxnz.

Pallbearer has been making Arkansas proud ever since a three-song demo they recorded surfaced in 2010. Since their 2012 release Sorrow and Extinction dropped in March, however, they’ve completely blown up.

Pitchfork gave the record an 8.4, called it “a triumph,” and ranked it as the best metal album of the year in 2012. The album was No. 2 on Spin’s Best Metal albums of 2012 list. Entertainment Weekly ranked it No. 5 on their list.

Arkansas, represent.

Tickets are $6 at the door, and we recommend getting to the Lightbulb Club early on Jan. 11. It’s gonna be crowded.
