Friday Events, Feb. 22

Hair, the Tony Award-winning musical about a group of young Americans searching for peace and love in the 1960s, opens Friday night at Walton Arts Center. There are three performances scheduled over the weekend. Tickets range from $48-64, and are on-sale at waltonartscenter.org.

Missouri comic AJ Finney returns to the UARK Bowl for two sets on Friday night. Finney’s stream of consciousness style of comedy has been called “stylistically manic” but “artistically brilliant.” Shows are scheduled for 8 p.m. and 10:30 p.m., and tickets are $7, available at uarkbowl.com.

Saturday Events, Feb. 23

The See

Little Rock-based band The See, who Arkansas Times called “the kings of Little Rock’s landscape of bands,” is coming back to town for a show at The Lightbulb Club Saturday night. They’re joined by fellow Little Rockers Glittercore, and awesome locals Family History, who recently released a teaser track for their upcoming new album that’s freakin’ awesome. Three bands, $5.

Matt Smith is turning 35, and he’s put together an all-star group of musicians to celebrate at Smoke & Barrel, featuring Jake Weeden on bass and vocals, Rochelle Bradshaw on vocals, Drew Packard on guitar and bass, and Johnny Arendono on drums.
