Get out your shopping bags, your flip flops, and get ready to see pretty much everyone you know in a few weeks. It’s almost time for the Fayetteville Farmers’ Market.

The market returns to the Fayetteville downtown square for its 40th season at 7 a.m. Saturday, April 6.

After opening day, the market opens every Saturday on the square from 7 a.m. to 2 p.m., and on Tuesday and Thursday from 7 a.m. to 1 p.m.

The market includes around 60 vendors, selling all kinds of locally-grown flowers, produce, meats, eggs, baked goods, plants, and local arts and crafts.

Expect to see local musicians performing on each corner, community groups passing out brochures, politicians kissing babies, and tons of local people circling the square in the warm spring air while browsing the locally-grown awesomeness.

Those who enjoy the farmers’ market held at the Botanical Garden of the Ozarks should take note of a few upcoming changes. The BGO market moves from Sunday to Saturday mornings from 7 a.m. until noon this year, and a new evening market will debut on Wednesdays from 4 p.m. until 7 p.m.

For now, mark your calendar for opening day April 6. Happy 40th, Fayetteville Farmers’ Market.
