Multiple Grammy Award-winning artist John Legend is coming to Fayetteville next month.

Legend is scheduled to speak at Barnhill Arena on Monday, April 29 as part of the Arkansas Distinguished Lecture series at the University of Arkansas. Legend’s appearance on campus will include a lecture and four-song musical performance, UA officials confirmed on Wednesday.

Legend made a name for himself backing superstar performers Jay-Z, Kanye West, Alicia Keys, Lauren Hill, and others before ultimately finding success as a solo artist. He has won nine Grammy Awards for his music, including three for his 2004 debut album, Get Lifted.

Since then, he has released numerous chart-topping songs, including his 2012 single “Tonight (Best You’ve Ever Had)” featuring Ludacris, and “Who Did That to You?” from the Django Unchained soundtrack.

The event is free and open to the public, and seating will be available on a first-come, first-served basis. The lecture will start at 7 p.m.
