The Northwest Arkansas Regional Planning Commission is asking residents for input about a possible “fixed guideway” transit system that would run from Greenland to Bella Vista.

The commission will host an informal drop-in session from 4 to 7 p.m. Thursday, April 11 at its office, located at 1311 Clayton Street in Springdale, as part of a feasibility study for the proposed transit system.

The public is encouraged to attend the meeting and examine maps, aerial photographs and study displays, as well as fill out survey forms to record suggestions and concerns that relate to the project.

The final objective of the study is to determine a locally-preferred option for both the mode and location of a system, which could include light rail, commuter rail, bus rapid transit, or automated personal rapid transit.

The planners and engineers who are developing the study will be available during the meeting to answer questions and discuss ideas and suggestions that the public may have regarding the proposed guideway.

The study is expected to be completed in about a year.
