Award-winning comedian, writer, actor, and sleepwalker Mike Birbiglia is coming to Fayetteville this week. Birbiglia is set to perform a comedy set at 8 p.m. Thursday, April 11 at Verizon Ballroom inside the University of Arkansas Student Union.

Birbiglia, who recently starred in the 2012 film Sleepwalk With Me (based on his live show of the same name), has been called a “master of the personal, embarrassing tale” for his antidotes on personal experience. He is well known for stories about true experiences resulting from a medical condition that causes him to act out his dreams in his sleep.

He is a regular contributor to This American Life, and has released three popular comedy albums. His 2007 album My Secret Public Journal Live was named as one of the best of the year by The Onion AV Club. His latest, Sleepwalk With Me Live , debuted at No. 1 on the Billboard Magazine Comedy Charts.

Birbiglia’s Thursday performance at the UA is sponsored by University Programs, and is free to University of Arkansas students. Admission for the general public is also free, and contingent upon seating availability.
