2013 NWA Fashion Week raises $43,330 for local organizations

Once again, the organizers of NWA Fashion Week deserve a high-five.

After raising $33,000 for local charities in their first year, organizers announced that the event increased that number to $43,330 in 2013.

The event, which first began last year when several local retail owners decided to combine their efforts to get more milage out of their annual charitable fashion shows, featured three nights of runway shows March 14-16.

“Our event wouldn’t be possible without NWA boutiques, artists, designers, local businesses, volunteers, models, and sponsors,” said Jade Terminella, one of the founders of NWA Fashion Week. “It is our honor to raise funding and awareness for ten worthy causes in Northwest Arkansas.”

NWA Children Shelter received the largest donation in 2013 of $7,490, followed by Single Parent Scholarship Fund who received $7,240.

The date has not been set for NWA Fashion Week 2014.
