Have you ever considered becoming a volunteer to help out on the city’s expanding trail system?

If so, the city’s Parks and Recreation Department invites you to attend a Trail Trekkers recruitment meeting scheduled for this week downtown Fayetteville.

Trail Trekkers are volunteers who supply directions, assist with first aid, and help other trail users with basic bicycle repair. Trail Trekkers also stay on the lookout to report any maintenance the trails might need.

Volunteers with the program determine their own work times and locations, and are not required to commit to any predetermined schedules.

The recruitment meeting begins at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday, April 30 inside room 111 of City Hall, 113 W. Mountain Street.

For more information, call Alan Spann, Recreation Program Manager, at 479-575-8369.
