Humane Society to host 21st Annual Dogwood Walk May 18

The dog party of the year is coming up this Saturday, May 18.

That’s the day that the Humane Society of the Ozarks will host the 21st annual Dogwood Walk at Gulley Park in Fayetteville.

The event, which serves as one of the largest fundraisers of the year for the Humane Society, begins with registration at 9 a.m. Vendor booths showcasing local pet-related products and services will also open at 9 a.m.

After that, a day full of dog trick contests, costume contests, and other activities are planned, culminating in the the annual Dogwood Walk at 11 a.m.

This year, the walk will be led by the new first lady of Razorback football, Jen Bielema, and her pup Lucy.

An awards ceremony is set for 11:45 a.m., and prizes will be given in several categories, including best dressed dog, most unique dog, best owner-dog look-alike, best dog trick, most spirited Razorback pup, and others.

Admission to the event is $20 ($15 for Humane Society members), and includes lunch and a t-shirt. Microchipping services will also be offered at the event for $20.
